What Is Mochi?

Mochi is a Japanese-style sweet with a soft, chewy rice-cake shell. Filled mochi wraps that tender shell around a creamy center, so every bite is soft outside and smooth inside. Our mochi come from Mochi Bloom: bite-size frozen mini mochi with a ganache-based filling, 20 pieces and 8.46 oz (240 g) in every box.

Frozen Mochi vs. Mochi Ice Cream

Many people search for mochi ice cream, but these are a different dessert. The Mochi Bloom box reads “Frozen Mochi Dessert, based on ganache”: the center is a creamy ganache-based filling, not a scoop of ice cream. You get the same chewy mochi shell with a richer, smoother bite.

How to Serve Frozen Mochi

  • After dinner: 3–4 pieces per person on a small plate with espresso or tea.
  • Party platter: mix pink strawberry, green pistachio, yellow mango and brown chocolate mochi for a bright tray.
  • As a gift: a few boxes next to a bottle of Champagne or our gourmet gifts.

Keep the boxes frozen and follow the serving instructions on the package.
